These terms govern your use of Mayan Beaches (the “site”), available at https://mayanbeaches.com. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What the site is
Mayan Beaches publishes sargassum (seaweed) conditions, beach cams, forecasts, and travel guidance for Mexico's Caribbean coast. It is an informational planning tool, provided free of charge.
Conditions are estimates, not guarantees
Sargassum is highly variable and can change within hours. Our ratings and 7-day outlook are a human read of satellite data, monitoring maps, live cams, and traveler reports — a planning nudge, not a promise about what you will find on any given beach at any given time. Always check live cams and official monitoring sources before you travel, and make your own decisions accordingly. We are not liable for decisions made based on the information here.
Community reports
If you submit a beach report, you confirm that the information and any photo you provide are yours to share and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to review, edit, publish, and display that content on the site. We moderate reports and may decline, edit, or remove any submission at our discretion. Do not submit anything unlawful, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights or privacy.
Outbound and affiliate links
The site links to third-party services, including tour and travel-insurance partners from whom we may earn a commission. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, products, or policies. See our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure for details. Your dealings with any third party are solely between you and them.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems.

- Submit false reports or abuse the alert sign-up or report forms.
Intellectual property
The site's original text, design, and branding are owned by us and may not be copied or reused without permission, except for normal personal, non-commercial reference. Third-party content (such as embedded beach cams) remains the property of its owners.

We may update these terms as the site evolves. When we do, we'll revise the “Effective” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
